The Agricultural Research Organization (ARO) is the research division of the Israeli Ministry of Agriculture, and the largest institute conducting agricultural research in Israel. Its main goals are to develop applicative knowledge on novel topics in agriculture and food science, and to implement agricultural research in Israel. Read more here.

We are located at Gilat Research Center - the ARO's southern research branch (a 20 minute ride from Beer-Sheva - the largest city in the northern Negev area of Israel). The center convenes a multidisciplinary group of research labs studying plant physiology, plant protection, nutrition and irrigation in arid and semiarid areas. Research facilities at Gilat include instrumentation for molecular, biochemical and microbiological studies, a fluorescence and electron microscopy unit, a HPLC and MS metabolome center and additional analytical support services.
